This village is an impressive monument to the atrocities committed by the Germans during World War II. Nearly all of its inhabitants were murdered by an SS unit on June 10, 1944, and the entire village was destroyed. The village still stands as it was left by the Germans. An underground memorial center displays photos and films of what happened at that time.
